Kyla’s love of fine food, fine wine and most specifically, champagne, began when she put her corporate career on hold to open a wine bar. But her wine obsession centres on one enigmatic sparkling with a long and fascinating history: champagne. After selling her bar, Kyla decided to move to France to explore this wine and history further.
After writing a letter to the author of one of her favourite champagne books, Kyla was invited to the Champagne region to learn about this nectar of the gods first-hand. After several months in the region, Kyla learnt about the unique grape varieties, traditional method of champagne production and the illustrious history of the wine. The most important part of her learning was having the opportunity to taste some of the worlds most iconic and rare champagnes.
While in France, Kyla was introduced to a side of champagne that is rarely witnessed by?the rest of the world and was granted a glimpse into the life of Champagne families. Kyla met generations of wine makers who have passed on their skill, passion and tradition from one generation to another. Whilst eating and drinking with these families, sharing stories and experiences of their background and history, Kyla discovered the underlying reason why this is one of the world’s most desired products which further fuelled Kyla’s love of the wine and the industry.
Kyla travels to Champagne many times a year. Plenty of these journeys have?garnered fascinating stories and experiences, including some exquisite opportunities?while working with the Louis Vuitton Moët Hennessy Group which owns some of the most powerful champagne brands in the world including; Moët & Chandon, Veuve Clicquot, Ruinart, Dom Perignon and the grand daddy of champagne – Krug.
All of these experiences and stories will be brought to you in your Champagne Master Class.
