Elizaveta “Liz” Parnova is an Australian Track and Field athlete who competed internationally in the Pole Vault event. Born in Moscow, Liz moved to Australia with her family in 1996 when she was two years old. Coming from legendary pole vaulting family members, with her father and her aunty both being World class pole vaulters.

Liz is a 4 x Australian National Pole Vaulting Champion, a silver medallist in World Youth & World Junior Championships, as well as the Youth Olympic Games. Having also represented Australia in the London Olympics as the youngest ever female pole-vaulter aged 18.

Liz represented the World Commonwealth Games in 2017 and 2019 placing 5th at the Gold Coast Games in 2018. She has just returned for the Tokyo 2020 Games, making her a dual Olympian!

Post sport in 2023 Liz took part in season 8 of Australian Survivor Heroes V Villains, taking the title of Sole Survivor and the 2023 winner.

In 2016, Liz suffered a devastating accident and broken leg in a training incident which resulted in having to forfeit her spot at the Rio Olympic Games. Broken and hopeless, she reached her outer limits of physical and mental suffering.With courage and determination she made her way back from the edge, scarred but undefeated.

Today, she can share Liz continues to defy the barriers in life and in sport, and inspires people around the world to do the same. Pushing the boundaries of failure and how to create a resilient mindset and never give-up attitude.

Liz looks forward to using her platform of being an Olympian and public figure to empower young women through guidance and assistance, where her stories of setbacks and failures to drive a positive mindset.
